GED/High School Equivalency Classes

You choose the class, time and place you wish to attend.  We offer GED classes at a variety of times and places to help accommodate the most students possible. Show up at the beginning of the class you chose. You will be given a registration form to complete and an assessment test on your first day. Help with transportation can be arranged! Here are the two types of classes we offer below:

Daytime GED

This class is offered via Open Enrollment. Open Enrollment means we have students walking in at all times of the day. The advantage for you is we try to work with your schedule. Most students set up times to meet with the teacher for better class preparation. Classes are curriculum is designed to meet your individual learning needs. Everyone starts at a different spot when learning the GED. Classroom can be in-person or virtual!

New GED Evening Courses M-TH

Want a more structured classroom feel? We are now offering GED Evening courses that both run virtually from 5-7PM:

  • Mondays and Wednesdays are classes that work on Reading Language Arts and Social Studies GED tests.
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays work on Math and Science GED tests.

What is the CASAS Test and Why is it Required?

All ABE (Adult Basic Education) students take the CASAS test to measure their reading and math skills. It’s similar to the standardized tests used in K–12 schools.

The government requires us to test students when they start (called a Pre-Test) and again after every 40 hours of learning (called a Post-Test) to track progress.

These tests help us place students in the right class level. The levels range from Level 1 to Level 6:

  • Levels 1–3 = elementary school level

  • Level 4 = middle school level

  • Levels 5–6 = high school level

To join Pre-GED classes, students need to place at Level 4 or higher.
To be GED-ready, students need to score at Level 5 or 6 in either math or reading.
