Linda Howard
My name is Linda Howard and I have taught ABE-GED classes at the Renville County Jail in Olivia since September, 2014. I graduated from Appleton High School, Concordia College Moorhead, and got my MA in Education through St. Mary?s University. For thirty years I taught science classes in Truman, MN. During my last year in 2012, I taught all science classes from seventh grade life science to physics and advanced biology. Needless to say, I spent many summers adding minors, majors, and licensures to my license. I moved to the area when I married my husband in 2010 and after retirement looked for something more challenging than substitute teaching which led me to checking out ABE. Teaching at the jail is very rewarding especially because we are a testing site for the GED test. My husband and I have a combined total of 5 adult children and 18 grandchildren. We keep busy trying to see them as much as possible, traveling to different areas of the Midwest to find good hiking trails, and spending as much summer time as possible at the lake. I also enjoy biking, reading, and crocheting. I?m grateful for the opportunity to teach in the ABE-GED setting.
